Abstract

This study aims to reveal efforts to fulfill the rights of people with disabilities at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University (UIN) and Atma Jaya University, Yogyakarta. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation, and document study. Interviews were conducted with university leaders, heads of service units, lecturers, and students with disabilities. The results showed that: 1) UIN Sunan Kalijaga has made accessible rules and policies, while Atma Jaya University has not had a real policy; 2) The physical facilities and infrastructure on both campuses are quite accessible. However, there is still a need to expand accessibility in all faculties; 3) Fulfillment of resources and behavior on both campuses can reduce environmental barriers typically faced by people with disabilities.[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap upaya pemenuhan hak difabel di Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga dan Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Data diperoleh dari para pimpinan kampus, kepala unit layanan, dosen, dan mahasiswa difabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) UIN Sunan Kalijaga sudah membuat aturan dan kebijakan yang aksesibel, sedangkan Universitas Atma Jaya belum mempunyai kebijakan yang nyata; 2) Sarana dan prasarana fisik di kedua kampus sudah cukup aksesibel, namun masih dibutuhkan perluasan dan pemerataan di semua fakultas; 3) Pemenuhan sumber daya dan perilaku di kedua kampus sudah dapat mereduksi hambatan lingkungan yang biasanya dihadapi oleh para difabel.]

Abstract

Most of the schools selected as providers of inclusive education are generally not yet prepared. This study aims to provide an overview of modified curriculum management implemented with cluster and pull-out learning models for students with disabilities at SD Al-Firdaus Surakarta. They were awarded the best inclusive school at the national level in 2012. Qualitative research is used to produce a comprehensive description of managerial steps, starting from planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the modified curriculum with the cluster learning model and pulling out students with disabilities. Based on data obtained from interviews, observations, and documents, this study concluded that an inclusive school requires modification in many ways and adapting to the needs of individual students with disabilities.[Kebanyakan sekolah yang ditunjuk sebagai penyelenggara pendidikan inklusif umumnya belum memiliki kesiapan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran manajemen kurikulum modifikasi yang diimplementasikan dengan model pembelajaran klaster dan pull-out bagi siswa difabel di SD Al-Firdaus Surakarta yang pernah mendapatkan penghargaan sekolah inklusif terbaik tingkat nasional pada tahun 2012. Penelitian kualitatif digunakan untuk menghasilkan paparan yang komprehensif mengenai langkah-langkah manajerial, mulai dari perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi kurikulum modifikasi dengan model pembelajaran klaster dan pull-out bagi peserta didik difabel. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari wawancara, observasi, dan dokumen, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa untuk menjadi sekolah inklusif diperlukan modifikasi dalam berbagai aspek kurikulum dan menyesuaikan kebutuhan peserta didik.]

Abstract

This article aims to answer one of the essential questions in the implementation and promotion of inclusive education in Indonesia, particularly inclusive higher education. Referring to the case of the State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, this research seeks to show the success of inclusive education in higher education through a career tracking (tracer study) of alumni with disabilities who graduated between 2011-2018. Data were collected through online surveys and interviews, either face-to-face or distance ones, to answer subjective and objective indicators of alumni success. This study found that students with disabilities were successfully studying at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Their study time is relatively average (8-10 semesters). The alumni with disabilities have also succeeded in finding decent jobs matching to their diplomas and obtained satisfaction in terms of careers and income.[Artikel ini bertujuan menjawab salah satu pertanyaan penting dalam implementasi dan promosi pendidikan inklusif di Indonesia, khususnya dalam pendidikan tinggi inklusif. Dengan mengambil kasus Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, penelitian ini membuktikan keberhasilan pendidikan inklusif di perguruan tinggi melalui pelacakan karier (tracer study) para alumni difabel yang telah diluluskan UIN Sunan Kalijaga sejak 2008-2018. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei daring dan wawancara, baik secara tatap muka atau jarak jauh, untuk menjawab indikator-indikator subjektif dan objektif keberhasilan dan kegagalan alumni. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada saat kuliah para difabel telah berhasil menjalani proses kuliah di UIN Sunan Kalijaga dengan baik. Waktu tempuh belajar mereka relatif normal dan beberapa pengecualian dapat menyelesaikan studi dengan cepat (tujuh semester). Para alumni juga berhasil memperoleh pekerjaan yang layak, sesuai ijazah, dan mendapatkan kepuasan dalam hal karier dan penghasilan.]

Abstract

Deaf students have their characteristics in carrying out social interactions. Their distinctive social interactions influence the communal space setting on the Meruya campus of Mercu Buana University. This study uses a qualitative method and derives its approach from the emerging concept of deaf space architecture. Data were collected by mapping the behavior of deaf students, observation, and interviews. The results showed that behavior, activities, and spatial dimensions influenced the formation of communal spaces. Deaf students tend to rely on visual senses, which are controlled by spatial experiences in their activities. Deaf students tend to choose a gathering room that can provide easy access to move, which includes distance and density (deaf space), sensory reach, mobility, and the ability to provide high visibility to find out the presence of lecturers and an accessible parking area.[Mahasiswa Tuli memiliki karakteristik tersendiri dalam melakukan interaksi sosial. Interaksi sosial mereka yang khas mempengaruhi setting ruang komunal di kampus Meruya Universitas Mercu Buana. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deaf space. Data dikumpulkan melalui pemetaan perilaku mahasiswa Tuli, observasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan ruang komunal dipengaruhi oleh perilaku, aktivitas, dan dimensi ruang. Mahasiswa Tuli cenderung mengandalkan indra visual yang dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman ruang dalam beraktivitas. Mahasiswa Tuli cenderung memilih ruang berkumpul yang mampu memberikan kemudahan akses bergerak yang meliputi jarak dan kerapatan (deaf space), jangkauan sensori, mobilitas dan kemampuan memberikan visibilitas yang tinggi untuk mengetahui kehadiran dosen serta area parkir yang aksesibel.]

Abstract

This study aims to assess the accessibility of chemistry learning in high school from the perspective of students with disabilities. The research involved three student participants and students with disabilities, as well as chemistry teachers as participants. Data is collected by a non-structured in-depth interview. The data obtained were then processed using data reduction techniques, data exposure, and concluding. The results showed that students with disabilities have a reasonably good perspective on learning chemistry in high school. According to students with disabilities, studying chemistry in high school is easy if the learning environment is supportive and the learning process is accessible. Research also shows that some aspects of chemistry learning in high school are accessible.[Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai aksesibilitas pembelajaran kimia di SMA menurut perspektif siswa difabel. Penelitian melibatkan tiga peserta siswa dan mahasiswa difabel, serta guru kimia sebagai partisipan. Data diperoleh dengan wawancara mendalam yang tidak terstruktur. Data yang diperoleh kemudian diolah dengan menggunakan teknik reduksi data, pemaparan data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik dan mahasiswa difabel memiliki perspektif yang cukup baik terhadap pembelajaran kimia di SMA. Menurut para difabel, belajar kimia di SMA itu mudah apabila lingkungan belajarnya mendukung dan adanya pemenuhan aksesibilitas dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa sebagian aspek pembelajaran kimia di SMA sudah aksesibel.]

Abstract

Blind students who study in inclusive schools experience difficulties in accessing science learning and materials. This study is a research and development. It aims to test the effectiveness of The Encyclopedia of Integrated Science-Alquran for Students with Visual Impairments, a development research product from previous Developmental Research Step 1. This product is Developmental Research Step 2, which adapts Borg and Gall's procedural model. Two separated classes in two provinces, DIY and Lombok, were randomly selected as the pre-test and post-test samples. To see the encyclopedia's effectiveness, further analysis of the pre-test and post-test was carried out to look for N-Gain. The study concluded that the student learning outcomes obtained through the N-Gain analysis showed an average increase of 0.43, which is in the medium criteria.[Siswa tunanetra yang menempuh pendidikan di Sekolah Penyelenggara Pendidikan Inklusif sering mengalami kesulitan dalam mengakses pembelajaran dan materi IPA. Studi ini merupakan Developmental Research. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas produk penelitian pengembangan, “Ensiklopedia IPA terintegrasi Alquran untuk Siswa Tunanetra”. Sebagai lanjutan dari Developmental Research Step 1, penelitian ini merupakan Developmental Research Step 2 yang mengadaptasi model prosedural Borg and Gall. Dua kelompok kelas (di dua provinsi, DIY dan Lombok) dipilih secara acak sebagai sampel uji pre-test dan post-test. Untuk melihat efektivitas Ensiklopedia, analisis lanjutan dari pre-test dan post-test dilakukan untuk mencari N-Gain. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang diperoleh melalui analisis N-Gain menunjukkan rata-rata kenaikan sebesar 0,43, berada pada kriteria sedang]

Abstract

The inclusion of the ’physically healthy’ requirement in recruiting job vacancies has led to various interpretations. This practice has been going on for a long time and often violates persons with disabilities' rights to obtain equal employment opportunities. This study aims to analyze the interpretation of physical health requirements in the recruitment of job vacancies. Sources of research data are employers, disabled workers, and the Yogyakarta Provincial Government. Researchers analyzed legal norms and qualitative data, then presented descriptively. The study concluded that there had not been one interpretation from the employer, disabled workers, and the government about ‘being physically healthy.’ The term is often interpreted as ‘being physically complete.’ This biased interpretation discriminates against disabled workers entering the workforce.[Keberadaan syarat ‘sehat jasmani’ dalam rekrutmen lowongan kerja menimbulkan berbagai penafsiran, khususnya bagi tenaga kerja difabel. Praktik ini sudah berlangsung lama dan melanggar hak difabel untuk memperoleh kesempatan yang setara dalam lapangan pekerjaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penafsiran syarat sehat jasmani dalam rekrutmen lowongan kerja. Sumber data penelitian adalah pihak pemberi kerja, tenaga kerja difabel, dan Pemerintah Provinsi Yogyakarta. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menganalisis norma hukum dan data kualitatif, kemudian disajikan secara deskriptif. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa belum ada kesatuan penafsiran dari pihak pemberi kerja, tenaga kerja difabel, dan pemerintah tentang kriteria sehat jasmani. Syarat sehat jasmani sering diartikan sebagai fisik yang lengkap. Hal mendiskriminasi tenaga kerja difabel dalam memasuki lapangan pekerjaan.]
